In February 2017, at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, Craig Spietzle of
the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) asked Olaf Kolkman and Bruce Schneier a key
question - "The Internet of Insecurity: Can Industry Solve It or Is
Regulation Required?

The answer is that, of course, the two options are not mutually exclusive.
However, the foundation of the Internet's overwhelming success has been
collaborative bottom-up multistakeholder standard making, based on
practical application. And there is no reason that this process cannot
continue and deliver us a trusted IoT future. But to acheive this it is
necessary that all players work together and step wisely. At the Internet
Society this principle is known as "Collaborative Security".

Olaf must have answered Craig Spietzle's question effectively, because
within two months the Online Trust Alliance and the Internet Society had
decided to totally pool their resources
