*-Caribbean Report - Removing Barriers to Connectivity and Unleashing the
Internet in the Caribbean*
Report to be released in the first half of January. This report surveys
eleven (11) Caribbean countries with a general overall focus of removing
barriers to connectivity and a specific focus on interconnection and
development.

*-ITU CWG-Internet: Online Open Consultation: "Developmental Aspects of the
Internet" *

The online open consultations are held throughout the period between two
successive meetings of the CWG-Internet. This process gives an opportunity
to all stakeholders to express their views with regards to the topic to be
discussed at the physical meeting (3 February, Geneva). Suggestions from

*-CSTD 2016-2017 Inter-sessional Panel*

The meeting will examine issues related to the follow-up to the outcomes of
the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). Findings and
recommendations of the Panel are expected to be considered at the 20th

*-CSTD Working Group on Enhanced Cooperation - Second Meeting

The group's second meeting will review the input received from all
stakeholders to two guiding questions formulated by the group during its

*-G20 German Presidency/OECD conference on "Key Issues for Digital
Transformation in the G20"* - (12 January, Berlin)
ISOC will participate in this conference that will serve as the kick-off
for the digital agenda of Germany’s G20 Presidency and will also launch the
OECD’s horizontal project on the impacts of and challenges to
digitalisation.

*-ITU Council Working Groups and Expert Group*

ISOC participates as a sector member to the various council working groups
of the ITU, including the Expert Group on the International
Telecommunication Regulations (EG‑ITRs). Of special note is the Open
Consultations to the CWG-Internet (3 February) in which all stakeholders

*Recent activities*

*-Internet Governance Forum* <http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/>,
(6-9 December), Guadalajara, Mexico
The 11th edition of the Internet Governance Forum, including Day 0 events,
took place in Guadalajara, Mexico between the 5th and 9th of December. ISOC
staff and Board members participated as speakers in more than 40 different
sessions, and ISOC sponsored more than one hundred young individuals as IGF
ambassadors and as participants of IGF Youth to participate in the event.
