[isoc-ny] Fwd: Spots still available for Karen Sandler's Sept 16 talk on the implications of software running in your body.

ISOC-NY announcements announce at lists.isoc-ny.org
Tue Sep 8 09:50:39 PDT 2015

From Brian at NYLUG. This is a topic I'd like to do more on - let me
know if you have suggestions. - David

We have spots available for this talk. We'd love it if you could
spread the word as Karen is a great speaker. (Please make sure people
RSVP, so we don't accidentally overfill the room.)

Thanks,
Brian

Subject: Spots still available for Karen Sandler's Sept 16
talk on the implications of software running in your body.

Please note that if you haven't seen Karen [1] speak before, this talk
will cross many boundaries, and will be sure to fascinate. Her story
is quite powerful.

In addition to Karen's current role running the SFC (Software Freedom
Conservancy), she previously ran the Gnome Foundation, and launched
the Outreach Program for Women, which is now known as Outreachy, a
program she still helps to run.

The SFC is home to over 30 Open Source projects including, git,
busybox, darcs, pypy, twisted, and mercurial.

If you haven't already done so, you can RSVP here:
