[isoc-ny] Speak out for Better Broadband!

ISOC-NY announcements announce at lists.isoc-ny.org
Fri Jul 10 09:41:27 PDT 2015

As you are probably aware, the US has fallen beyond in fast,
inexpensive, reliable Internet access even though this is where the
Internet was invented.

There is no shortage of fiber optic cable, switches or routers here -
and there is no shortage of skilled people who know how to install the
fiber and configure the equipment - although a lot of them have been
laid off recently.

In New York, the Public Service Commission is holding a series of
hearings on this topic, although they seem to think that nothing is wrong.

This is your opportunity to speak out about the need - and the current
lack - of fast, affordable and reliable Internet access:

On Wednesday, July 15, 2015 there will be a hearing at:

NY Institute of Technology on Broadway
1871 Broadway, between 61st and 62nd Street, New York, New York 10023

There will be an Information Session at 6:30 pm, followed by a Public
Statement Hearing at 7:30 pm

David R. Van Ort will be the presiding officer.

Please come, speak and help make the Internet available for everyone.

Thanks!

David
