These competitions, which have <b>$2m in prizes</b>, challenge the public to identify and demonstrate solutions to further wireless networks in two scenarios. (1) The <strong>Off-the-Grid Internet Challenge</strong> aims to find wireless solutions for communication that can be rapidly deployed in post-disaster situations where Internet access is unavailable or compromised. (2) The <strong>Smart Community Networks Challenge</strong> aims to find wireless solutions for communication that can be built on top of existing infrastructure to enhance Internet connectivity in communities that need greater access. Each challenge will consist of two stages: a <b>Design Concept Stage</b> and a <strong>Working Prototype Stage</strong>.
