Dear Colleagues,

Please find below another update on some of the ongoing Internet Society &
Chapter initiatives.
*ISOC's work on Sustainable Development Goals*
*=====================================*
The Internet has an important role to play in achieving sustainable
development and has been recognised as a critical enabler of social and
economic change. Using the Internet to improve people's lives has been part
of the Internet Society's mission since its creation. With the sustainable
development goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015
<https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/>,
we found a common language and a common framework among all stakeholders.
Sustainable development requires that all of us work together. This year,
we have developed new partnerships with different stakeholders to advance
development challenges, like gender equality, quality education, and the
future of work. We have joined the EQUALS Global Partnership
<https://www.equals.org/> to collaborate on reducing the digital gender gap
and we have been working closely with our community to prove the value that
the Internet has for our communities by opening a discussion about
education and the future of work.
Check out this presentation

to learn more about our sustainable development work. In addition, please
reach out to Agustina Callegari at callegari at isoc.org if you have any ideas
or projects that would help us identify new ways in which the Internet
can contribute
to shape a future that is better for all, especially in light of the UN's
sustainable development goals.

*Upcoming: **North America Chapter**'s Meeting*
*===================================*
Our dedicated North America Chapter volunteers are meeting on July 28 in
Washington, DC to brainstorm and map ways they can contribute to achieving
the objectives of the Internet Society campaigns. Internet Society staff
and a couple consultants will be on hand to offer campaign
<https://www.internetsociety.org/key-issues/> guidance. The meeting will be
led by our longtime Internet Society friend and expert facilitator Allen
Gunn. Contact Kellee Elkins at elkins at isoc.org for more information.
The Chapter workshop is co-located with IGF-USA, taking place on July 27
