Hi,

The recently launched Freedom of the Net report shows that online freedoms
have declined globally for a sixth consecutive year in 2016:

Worrying trends include increasing resort to content blocking and temporary
network shut downs, targeting of encryption technologies in the name of
surveillance, and jail-time of users (not only activists) for their posts
and the content of their messages.
