If you have ever used a telephone over the last three decades, odds are
Bruce Kushnick had something to do with it. Over the last two decades,
Kushnick and other individuals, small businesses, analysts, phone bill
specialists and even phone and broadband customers formed Teletruth, to
defend the public’s telecom and broadband interests. Kushnick and his
associates have filed complaints with the FCC and various public service
commissions, requested investigations by the IRS, worked with the Small
Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy to create a “Roundtable”
for small competitors, and has help to create of “The Broadband Bill of
Rights”, a proposed piece of legislation, and have helped to initiate
multiple successful class action suits resulting in tens of millions of
dollars

Wireless ISP Association (WISPA), recently graduated Brooklyn Law and
passed bar to become attorney.

Dave Burstein

Editor and publisher dslprime.com. "I found myself deep in engineering,
finance, and policy, although I'm not formally trained. I developed some
surprising friends in high places, and got startled one day when a
bureau chief called me 'the conscience of the FCC.' Wall Street analysts
made me their pet geek." Dave will discuss the rapid acceleration of
wireless technology and it's implications for policy and bridging the
last mile to bring Net access to underserved communities.

It will be followed by an open discussion.

The podcast series will also include a conversation with Zephyr Teachout
in which we discuss whether the big telephone and cable monopolies
should be broken up - already recorded but needs some last post
production stuff. I'm also scheduling an interview with ex-CIA spook and
Reform Party Presidential candidate Robert Steele.

Hope you can make it on Friday!

Best,

David
